Taking a break

Hello faithful readers. For the next few weeks, I will not be writing posts as I have a few other projects that I need to focus on. Stay tuned as I will be back shortly. Feel free to drop me a line with suggestions for future posts. Cheers.

My first BOYCOTT request.

My first BOYCOTT request. You can buy booze, do your banking, grab a coffee, mail a letter, pick up a meal as well as a prescription…all from the comfort of your car as you use the almighty “Drive-Through”. For the purposes of this blog, I am going to focus on the Fast-Food Drive Through. Mainly because with perhaps the exception of a Drive Through Liquor Store, these implements of modern convenience sicken me the most. [...]

Push and shove

I was riding on the subway this week. It was rush hour and the trains were packed. People scrambling around, seemingly oblivious of where they were or what they were doing. It’s almost like they are all on cruise control simply running a prescribed and routine course until they arrive at their final destination. Most people gaze down at an i-phone, or an i-pad, or a Blackberry or in some cases an old fashion piece [...]

“Health Products”

The subject of this weeks blog is Health Products, and what a staggering oxymoron that term actually is; HEALTH and PRODUCTS. One would think that the word Health actually means to promote better Health. Unfortunately, many of the products we use on ourselves and our children, are a toxic cocktail of unmitigated poison. These are products that we use everyday, and in many cases, several times per day, throughout the course of our lives. We [...]

To blog or not to blog…that isn’t the question.

To blog or not to blog, that isn’t the question. Someone close to me, recently asked me, why I blog? Why do I feel the need to “put it all out there” Why do I write the things I write? I guess there a few answers to that. First, and most simply put; I see things, I observe things and crave to speak about them. On some level, I write my observations because I hope [...]

The High-Road…

The High-Road is a fucking lonely place. No matter what, I have always tried my best to keep at least one wheel on it’s path. Even under extreme scrutiny, I have opted to pay the emotional toll in order to speed along the sweet, tempered concrete of the High-Road. In my past though, I haven’t always taken it, nor do I always take it in my present. I know it’s what I am supposed to [...]

Expendable friends…

I guess my first task is to try and iterate the notion of expendability with regards to friendships. The dictionary essentially defines expendable as; “considered to be not worth keeping or maintaining”. To better understand the magnitude of the oxymoron that is “expendable friendship” I have to also share with you the definition of friendship; “an emotional or other connection between people”. So where is the disconnect? So lets try to understand the different levels [...]

Just a little bit smarter…

“What if the world was just a little bit smarter?” I guess what I mean is, what if the people in the world were just a little bit smarter? Not huge, 20 IQ point smarter…just a little bit smarter. We continue to build technology that gets smarter and smarter with each generation. Here’s the rub though; the smarter our technology gets, the dumber we get, the more we rely on the very devices we have [...]

Procrastination vs. Passion

Before reading the following post, there’s something I want to note. Although the blog site is still titled We As Men, over the coming weeks I will be exploring more generic subjects that I hope, will speak to more readers, both male and female. I will also be sharpening things up a little bit – time to put a bit of an edge on this thing. You may notice shorter, harder hitting posts. As always [...]

We As Men – “F-YOU” Attitude…

We As Men – “F-YOU” Attitude… Spite can be a good thing! I was on my motorcycle riding home one night. It was a beautiful sunny summer evening and I was riding on roads I knew well. I was two blocks from home and remarkably doing the speed limit. I rounded a slight bend in a three lane one-way street when suddenly a car cut me off. In the tenth of a second I had [...]
